Do the courses replace workshops?

The courses can supplement workshops (as preparatory material) or act as stand-alone material.

Post-course evaluation at Imperial College London has indicated an unusually high student satisfaction rate of 4.5 out of 5 for students who have taken the course in collaboration with workshops.

What is your pedagogical approach and teaching philosophy?

We aim to make courses that are a stimulating and engaging experience for the learners. We use a model of instructional design based on that devised by Robert Gagne in his 'Nine Events of Instruction' framework.

Our courses also make rich use of e-learning content, such as simulations, multimedia and quizzes, narratives, recycling and regular feedback.

What are your technical specifications?

Our courses are multimedia rich and are best delivered via a broadband network, a Local Network (LAN) or by CD-ROM.

All our courses comply with the Content Packaging Specification laid out by IMS Global Learning Consortium and are therefore compatible with online learning environments such as Blackboard, WebCT, Moodle and Sakai.

How would your courses be implemented by my institution?

Our courses are designed to be installed in your virtual learning environment (VLE). Precise implementation will vary according to your institution's needs and our courses are designed to be flexible in order to accommodate this.

We also offer hosted solutions if your institution does not have sufficient IT infrastructure to host the courses themselves.

The courses can be used in conjunction with a face-to-face session or as stand-alone training which students access on demand.

Can Epigeum help with installation?

We offer an installation service, if you would like help uploading our courses into your virtual learning environment (VLE), e.g. WebCT, Moodle or Blackboard. There is a small fee for this service.

Do your courses meet accessibility requirements?

We take accessibility seriously and want our courses to be accessible to all users. We make all reasonable efforts to ensure that our courses are compliant with the SENDA and DDA.

Do I need to purchase all the courses in a training programme?

We generally sell access to training programmes rather than individual courses; however, we can be flexible. Please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for further details.
