Development Groups

All of our courses are built in collaboration with a group of universities which we call the 'development group'. Members of the group pay a one-off fee (usually just slightly more than the cost of an annual licence) and then partner with us to develop the courses.

Joining a development group

We currently have five development groups in progress, four of which still have availability for new members:

Statistical Methods for Research (Invitation to join)

Professional Skills for Research Leaders (Invitation to join)

Research Integrity (one space left!)

University Leadership and Management (three spaces left!)

University and College Teaching (now full)

Benefits to development group members

  • An unlimited licence in perpetuity and free updates for a further three years
  • Significantly cheaper than developing similar training courses in-house
  • Work closely with your peers in other universities. The process involves a great deal of knowledge development and exchange.

Over 70 universities and colleges have now participated in Epigeum's development groups, including seven of the UK's top ten institutions. You can see the members of each development group in the course descriptions.

What a development group does

Members collaborate with the programme's lead advisor, authors, reviewers and Epigeum to shape the programme by:

  • agreeing the detailed course curriculum
  • peer-reviewing the materials as they are worked into courses
  • arranging for students and staff in their institutions to appear in the course videos
  • testing the beta versions of the courses prior to general release.

This ensures that our programmes closely match what universities really need.
