Introduction

Epigeum's new collaboration is for early to mid-career researchers to progress from where they are now, to where they want to be professionally.

The collaboration will produce five online courses (supported by an introduction) which together will enable researchers to learn about key career drivers, assess their professional skills, access 24/7 online training in key areas such as managing staff, grant writing, collaboration and research communication.

The Opportunity

There is a growing trend for leading universities to provide professional training to their researchers. The impact of this is to improve the quality of research, increase PhD completion, provide transferable skills and meet funder compliance requirements.

This new collaboration will extend online researcher training to include those who manage research teams. The five online courses will:

  • Be compatible with blended or online tutor-supported delivery
  • Contain optional peer-to-peer online forums and interaction.

Invitation to join the Development Group

We are seeking a group of enthusiastic universities to participate in this project, our 12th such collaboration in six years.

Joining an Epigeum development group allows you to secure content for significantly less than the cost of developing it in-house, or purchasing a subsequent annual licence from Epigeum.

If you join, your role will be to peer review the content as it is developed. Epigeum project manages the entire development process, and also underwrites a significant portion of the costs.

Founder Members of the development group include:

  • University of Leicester
  • Macquarie University, Australia
  • University of Limerick
  • Brunel University
  • Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
  • Durham University
