How to download our courses
Epigeum courses can be downloaded from our website, and the link for your download will have been sent to the contact at your university who purchased the courses. If you would like the link to be resent, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
IMS Content Packages
Why do we provide the courses as zip files? These zip files are IMS Content Packages, which, when loaded into a VLE/LMS, will be translated into a learning module that fits into the system. The advantages to the university of having IMS Content Packages are:
- you can track usage to see data such as:
- which users have been using the courses
- which pages are being viewed the most
- how long users are spending on certain pages
- which users have taken and passed the course quiz.
- you can decide how the content is viewed, by
- making certain items available on selective release, for example, only letting a user see page 3 after they have viewed page 2
- only allowing a user to continue once they have passed an assessment
- setting a limit on how many times users can take an assessment.
- you can edit the content of courses, by:
- adding your own university branding, such as the university logo
- adding an introductory video, maybe a recording of the course tutor or instructor
- using your VLE/LMS html editor
- adding/removing pages to/from a course
- customising the order in which the content is displayed
- adding VLE/LMS tools such as quizzes, assessments and discussion boards to any part of the course.
Epigeum final course quizzes
The final course quizzes are included to test the users' understanding of the course. These course quizzes are available for download with the course content, and are supplied in a format that you can load directly into your system. These quizzes can then be linked to the courses, and tracked via the gradebook in your VLE/LMS. As with any other quiz/assessment in a VLE/LMS, you can edit, add and remove questions.
READ_ME file
You will find within each course package a READ_ME file, containing extra information such as help with installation, quizzes and customisation - including how to add your own university logo to the course files.
