We are always keen to hear from experienced freelance editors who are interested in working on our projects.
Our in-house editorial team carries out the bulk of the editorial work but we sometimes use freelances to help us with copy editing, proofreading, bug checking, transcription and permissions. For this kind of work, prospective freelances need to have prior experience of copy editing and proofreading in digital publishing (preferably within a higher education context), an outstanding eye for detail and impeccable spelling, punctuation and grammar.
We also very occasionally use freelancers to help with more substantial editing work, including structural editing, reworking of text and instructional design. For this kind of work, freelances need proven experience of developing first-class interactive online learning materials, a flair for creating imaginative, meaningful online activities, strong writing skills and a passion for clear and concise text.
If your skills match the requirements outlined above and you would like to be considered for any forthcoming freelancer work (subject to availability), please send your CV and cover letter to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Please note that all editing work is carried out on screen.
If you are looking to build your CV in publishing, then do get in touch. We can offer experience shadowing editorial and administrative staff, as well as an opportunity to work as part of a small, friendly team where you will see how the whole electronic publishing process fits together. If you are interested, please send your CV and a cover letter to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
