About this course
Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Violence 2.0 provides accessible and research-based training on the first response to disclosures. Developed under the guidance of an expert panel of advisors, authors, and reviewers, the course ensures all staff are equipped with the practical knowledge and skills needed to provide an effective and survivor-centred first response, and signpost to potential sources of further support.
The new edition has been updated to reflect a broader focus on gender-based violence. New content covering staff-to-student and peer-to-peer misconduct has been added and coverage of image-based abuse has been expanded, including how to recognise it, and provide support to individuals experiencing it. The overall approach of the programme has been updated to be more trauma-informed, shifting the emphasis from reporting, to responding and providing support.
Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Violence 2.0 is part of Epigeum’s Support and Wellbeing suite of programme’s for Higher Education Institutions, which also includes Consent Matters: Boundaries, Respect, and Positive Intervention 2.0, and Tackling Harassment, delivering comprehensive training covering prevention and response.
