March marked an important turning point for both Epigeum and Oxford University Press in the UAE. A substantial number of university representatives, researchers, deans, directors, and vice presidents attended a workshop on Enhancing Your Teaching and Research with World Class Professional Development at the Hilton Hotel, Jumeirah Beach Residences Dubai.
The event introduced attendees to the wide range of Epigeum courses in the areas of Research, Studying, Teaching, and Leadership and Management.
Dr David Lefevre, Chairman and Co-Founder of Epigeum, led a discussion with the delegates around the Epigeum development model and pedagogical approach. The workshop also featured presentations from Dr David Kennedy, Teaching and Learning Director at HCT, Mr Stan Brackman, Manager Professional Development and Practice at HCT, and Ms Sarah Whittaker, Senior Project Manager, mLearning at HCT, sharing their experience using Epigeum’s University and College Teaching programme.
In addition, Dr Fahem AlNuaimi’s, Chief Executive Officer of Ankabut, spoke about their challenges, and the advances in expanding the reach of educational content to the four corners of the United Arab Emirates.
The success of the workshop was apparent in the engaged dialogue between Emirati institutions and Epigeum. Dr Lefevre also welcomed and highlighted the importance of having an input from members of the teaching bodies so we can jointly strengthen the relationship and take it forward.
