Meet our Team: Maddy Carminke

November 29, 2019

Maddy Carminke is Epigeum’s Office Manager and Events Coordinator. She is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Epigeum office in Kensington, as well as coordinating Epigeum events, such as our development group workshops. Maddy has a background in training and development, as she previously organised and coordinated professional training courses in a variety of marketing subjects. She graduated from Bournemouth University with a BA in Events Management.

What brought you to Epigeum?

I previously worked in a training course environment, organising and running face to face training sessions, and so I was keen to remain in a role and company that focused on individual education and development – as I think this is something that is really important! I was attracted to Epigeum for many reasons, but particularly how interesting, beneficial, and important its courses are.

Which parts of your role do you enjoy the most?

I graduated with a degree in Events Management and so wanted a role in the events industry. In the Events Coordinator part of my job, I really enjoy liaising with venues and organising logistics. As the Epigeum Office Manager, I enjoy being able to help and assist my colleagues and feel like I play a part in looking after everyone in the office!

What does your workspace say about you?

I like everything to be tidy and organised, which I think reflects my personality well! My desk currently has a lot of different things on it… but it is in an organised order, and I know what everything is and where it all needs to go. I also have a cup of coffee on my desk each morning, which is essential to start the day!

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time I enjoy running – I’ve completed my first 2 half marathons this year. I love traveling and exploring new places. I also enjoy eating out and trying new food and restaurants.

Tell us something we don’t know about you.

I’ve previously worked 2 winter ski seasons, and I broke my wrist snowboarding (fortunately it’s fixed now!).
