What brought you to Epigeum?
I was drawn to Epigeum’s collaborative ethos and forward-thinking approach, as well as the prospect of working in higher education, as my career to that point had centred on primary and secondary school teaching and publishing.
Which parts of your role do you enjoy the most?
I love learning about innovative new products and presenting them in creative ways, as well as building an understanding of, and relationship with, customers and stakeholders over time. I would say I’m very people-focused!
What does your workspace say about you?
I’m never far from my “to do” list, so that I can tick things off as I go. I like to start the day with a cup of coffee while I read through my emails, so there’s usually a mug on my desk, plus an assortment of post-its, pens and print-outs – I prefer proof-reading and planning on paper.
What do you do in your free time?
I spend as much time as I can with family and friends, and also enjoy cooking, singing, going to the theatre and reading – I get through a lot of books on my journeys to and from the office, and have nearly missed my stop many times because I’m too engrossed.
Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I oversaw all sorts of extracurricular activities while I was teaching, including a Spanish Verse Speaking Competition, student-based Charities Committee, various camping trips and a hockey team!
