Student transitions workshop almost here

January 23, 2015

In just over a week, Epigeum will be hosting delegates from across the world at Imperial College to form a brand new collaborative course-Academic Success: Skills for Learning, Skills for Life. This online course is designed for students who are transitioning into university and will help them appreciate the full experience: one that should transform the way they understand the world around them and inspire them about what is possible to achieve.

Academic Success will enable UK universities to fulfill indicators 5, 6 and 8 in the QAA quality code, demonstrating explicitly that they “have in place, monitor and evaluate arrangements and resources which enable students to develop their academic, personal and professional potential.” (reference: QAA website).

So far universities from the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia have signed up to help shape and develop the 17 modules that will comprise the final product. These modules are impressively wide-ranging, from adapting to university study right through to sections on academic misconduct and referencing. The editorial team are busy finalising these initial course and module outlines ready for the delegates to discuss over the course of the workshop and the whole team are excited to see how the curriculum will be received.

If you would like to learn more about the collaboration please email Wendy Harbottle on wendy.harbottle@epigeum.com, call +44 (0) 7970 546524 or get in touch via our website.
