World Mental Health Day 2018 – What are universities doing to support student wellbeing?

October 8, 2018

We have put a lot of thought into mental health and wellbeing recently at Epigeum, as we are working on our newest collaboration, Being Well, Living Well – an interactive wellbeing toolkit for students in higher education.

In preparation for this year’s World Mental Health Day on 10 October, we collected ideas implemented by different universities in the UK to support student wellbeing and begin conversations about mental health.

These initiatives span from offering students training in recognising when their friends may need support, and staff in supporting student mental health needs, to campaigns focusing on raising awareness of mental health, such as the “elephant in the room” and whiteboard pledge initiatives employed by many institutions.

Being Well, Living Well will provide a flexible online toolkit to ensure all university students have access to adequate wellbeing support.
